matt made his professional acting debut at age 12 in 'our town', with peter donat and annette bening, directed by the late william ball. he has appeared in film, television, and 40 some odd plays and musicals (emphasizing the word 'odd'). he flat out owned the role of 'papa bear' in the national tour of 'goldilocks: the musical'.
matt has been fortunate to work with and learn from hugh jackman, meg ryan, demi moore, sarah jessica parker, billy crudup, mary martin, carol channing, james mangold, richard adler, patsy rodenberg, robert moss, katie bull, and the late chuck jones.
In 2002, matt created, co-produced, directed and starred in the off-broadway rock musical hit, 'project: ground control', inspired by david bowie's major tom (see clip.) the sold-out production drew the attention of music giants eddie kramer (producer, jimi hendrix, led zeppelin, the rolling stones) and john regan (producer, kiss, peter frampton), both of whom expressed interest in working with matt in the future. you can purchase 'project: ground control' at the 'loot' page.
matt began his studies at a.c.t.'s youth program in san francisco, and eventually graduated from nyu's tisch school of the arts, playwrights horizons theater school. he has taught voice for actors (chuck jones' method) at nyu, vassar college, and the michael howard studios. matt feels especially grateful to have spent years teaching at the performing arts academy in gallup, new mexico.
he is well managed by freeze frame entertainment.
